What is the Shin'etsu Area?

Shin’etsu Shizenkyo, located in the northern part of Nagano and Niigata Prefectures, is one of the areas with the heaviest snowfall in Japan. Winter activities can be enjoyed at all 39 ski resorts. Iiyama Station, the gateway to the area, is conveniently accessible from Tokyo Station by the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line, which can take 1 hour and 41 minutes on the fastest route.
